Jeremiah 17:7 states: “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”
As we wake up in the morning and start our day we can feel as though we are being rushed. Rushed to get ready for work, rushed to get ready for school, rushed to get the kids to daycare, rushed to……. What if we can start the day with rest. Rest can actually transform your entire day. Psalm 46:10 tells us to “Be still and know that I am God”. It is in those quiet times and stillness that we hear God’s voice. When we can wake up in the morning and immediately turn to him first, we are saying to him that we can’t get through the day without him. We can’t face the day with our own strength. When we can say to God: “I surrender the day and all of its joys, frustrations, stresses, sadness, etc… When we start doing that, it is then that we will find rest knowing that God is God and we are not. God is the one in control.
I encourage you to begin every day looking to the Lord instead of looking at what challenges you may be facing in the day. Every morning, breathe in Gods peace, his provision, and his presence. God is ready to take all of our burdens from us. We need to allow him to take them. We can find rest and comfort knowing that the Lord always walks with us.
